Script Writer

We make videos for startups and need a storyteller who can make enterprise software sound interesting and easy to understand.‍

What We Do

At Represent, we make product launch videos and run YouTube channels for software companies.

I won't lie – software isn't inherently all that exciting for 99% of people. They just want the usual: more, faster, cheaper, automated.

But it can be!

We want to go 10 layers deep into understanding our audience and product through good old-fashioned research and deep thinking.

Our Video Formats

Product Launch Videos (Live Action) – Founders on camera explaining their startup in under 2 minutes
Product Launch Videos (Motion Graphics) – 45–60 second animated videos that turn complex software into something that "clicks"
YouTube Videos – Educational content that teaches people how to use tools and solve problems without making them want to fall asleep

The Role

We're not just looking for a scriptwriter – we're looking for someone with a viral content mindset who applies it to video.

Most video scripts for B2B software are boring as hell. Yours won't be. You know what makes people stop, watch, and share – and you'll bring that thinking to every product launch, explainer, and tutorial we create.

You won't be making TikToks or LinkedIn carousels. You'll be writing video scripts that use the same principles: grab attention fast, hold it until the end, make it worth sharing.

We need a scriptwriter who hates corporate videos and elevator music, because that stuff is intellectually lazy and creatively bankrupt.

What You'll Actually Do

Script Writting & Content Creation

Write video scripts optimized for retention – keep viewers watching from start to finish
Create video titles and descriptions that make people click
Craft opening hooks that grab attention in the first 3 seconds
Master transitions to prevent drop-off

Strategic Content Thinking

Apply viral mechanics (pacing, shareability) to every script
Understand platform dynamics (YouTube algorithm, social video best practices)
Think visually – brainstorm thumbnails, create storyboards

Product Deep Dives

Actually use our clients' software – set up workflows yourself (at least for a few hours)
Go 10 layers deep into research until you're practically an expert
Understand audiences well enough to speak their language

What We're Looking For

Your Must-Haves:

2+ years writing content that people actually engage with
You understand viral mechanics – why some content blows up and some gets 47 views
You can write fast without it sucking – quality at speed is the game
AI is a core part of your workflow – not "I've used ChatGPT to brainstorm," but AI is embedded in how you work, from research to drafting to iteration. We operate at high scale and high speed. AI should be your multiplier, not your replacement.

Bonus Points If:

You've worked on videos (editing, producing, directing, or just spent serious time around video production)
You've written for founders, CEOs, or personal brands
You know your way around analytics tools

Working Together

Project-Based Freedom: Start with individual scripts, prove your value, then grow into our go-to storytelling partner. The best writers become indispensable – and we pay accordingly.

Growth: We're looking for someone who could eventually lead our content strategy (if they want). This role can become a full-time opportunity.

How To Apply

Make the first sentence of your application an irresistible hook. That's a test! ;)
Include links to content you've created that got real traction (shares, views, engagement)
